Graham Downing was brought up in rural Norfolk and has been deeply involved with field sports and the countryside since his early teens.

Graham Downing was brought up in rural Norfolk and has been deeply involved with field sports and the countryside since his early teens. A keen and active game shooter, wildfowler and deer stalker, Graham has written for the countryside press for thirty years and is well known to readers of The Field, Shooting Times and a variety of other magazines. He and his wife, Veronica, live on their own small arable farm in Suffolk which is managed for wildlife and conservation and on which they enjoy keeping their flock of Norfolk Horn sheep.
