Early morning on the River Wye by Sue Bernhard-Smith

Sue of Cradley, Worcestershire, and her partner run two businesses: Ravens Wing Vikings (www.rwv1.co.uk) and Drudion 13th century Living History and Combat (www.drudion.org.uk). They are historical educators (known as Rowan and Callum), staging Viking and Medieval days for children or adults. Sue says: Early morning on the River Wye in Hereford was taken by chance. We had been out very early trying to get shots of the sunrise but that didnt really happen. While walking our four dogs through Hereford Park I saw the mist beginning to rise and the glorious autumn colours shining out along the river. It was too good an opportunity to miss. I love taking landscape shots as this country has some fantastically beautiful scenery but also enjoy candid street photography, especially in black and white. I have been taking photos for about 10 years but am still very much an amateur as there is so much to learn. The more you learn, the more there is to learn but, hopefully, the better your photography.

Hay-on-Wye by Adam Roberts

Adam of Fairford, Gloucestershire, took this picture on his mobile phone when he and his partner, Grace, visited Hay-on-Wye in February. The visit was a birthday present from Adams mum Chris to Grace for her birthday. Adam uses his mobile phone to take photos of trips and holidays, his cars and motorbikes.

Hampton Court Castle by Julia Atkinson

French teacher Julia of Bromley, Kent, took this picture at Hampton Court Castle last August. She says its shows two Herefordshire ladies remembering the moment of terror when Lady Hereford caught them playing in the castle grounds more than 80 years ago. They told Julia: Well at least we dont have to use the bushes any more! Julia is new to photography: I like to take photos that tells a story or have an unusual point of interest.
