The Queen is bringing her Diamond Jubilee party to the region in April and July when she visits with Prince Philip. Sharon Chilcott looks at the latest plans for celebrating the historic event
Villagers in Weobley have devised an energetic way to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee with a bluegrass concert in the Village Hall on Saturday, June 2 from 7pm.
For lovers of blues, swing, roots and bluegrass, there is the draw of Arthur Ebeling from Holland performing with Shrewsbury-based Chris Quinn. Then theres Wagon Tales, an energetic young band from London, who have performed with acts as diverse as Madness and the English Chamber Orchestra. Musician Chris Moreton, acoustic guitarist of the year in 1997, will also entertain, accompanied by his wife, Wendy, on the double bass.
