On one of the first sunny days of the summer, Alexandra James provided a delicious lunch made from home-grown ingredients, and an entertaining and informative wine tasting for guests and staff of the magazine in the lovely setting of her home, Broadfield Court.

Fiona Ambler and Hilary Engel spoke about the ways in which Herefordshire Life is growing, developing its long-standing reputation as the county magazine, and its relationship with both advertisers and readers.

Alexandra then told the fascinating story of how she and her family have developed the 12-acre vineyards at the Court, and offered the guests a selection of their dry and fruty wines, made from Reichensteiner, Huxelrebe, Madeleine Angevine and Seyval grapes.
