On Saturday January 24 guests wearing a 'Wee Touch of Tartan' celebrated the 250th anniversary of Robbie Burns' birthday with a traditional Burns Evening at the atmospheric Lyde Arundel, hosted by Hereford Cathedral School PTA.

The guests were greeted with a glass of mulled wine and a piper. They then enjoyed the delights of traditional Scottish fare, prepared by Sisters Catering, in the delightful hall of Lyde Arundel, glowing in candle light and with a roaring open fire. The meal, including 'the piping in of the haggis', was accompanied by parents and staff trying out their Scottish accents on the intricacies of Burns poems.

The evening concluded with riotous reeling to The Ceilidh Chasers. Finally guests were treated to a cup of warming cock-a-leekie soup before taking their carriages home.
