HRH The Princess Royal's visit to Hereford included tours of GRC (Global Radio Communications) and MilSys (UK) Ltd.

HRH The Princess Royals visit to Hereford included tours of GRC (Global Radio Communications) and MilSys (UK) Ltd., both members of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce. Princess Anne opened the new GRC Head Office at the Wye Vale Business Park. GRC designs, delivers and manages communication and information systems to the military, government departments and other commercial organisations.

She was introduced to Howard Ham, the companys Chief Executive, by the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Lady Darnley and met the directors of the company and many of the employees. She officially opened the building by unveiling a plaque. The Princesss visit to MilSys UK Ltd. on the Rotherwas Estate, pictured, celebrated the national and international success of the company. MilSys provides Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters to the UK MoD and international markets.

The Princess Royal was met by Managing Director Andy Cowling and members of the management team, before touring the assembly plant. Before leaving the Princess met with representatives of the Chamber and business leaders from across the county to discuss a number of key issues affecting Hereford businesses. Included in the discussions were the recession, apprenticeship schemes, companies working together, the Edgar Street Grid Development and the need for a by-pass through Hereford.
