On Thursday August 25th 2011 the biggest event in the county of Monmouthshire comes to Monmouth. The Monmouthshire Show is traditionally held on the last Thursday of August and has a reputation of being the largest one-day agricultural show in Wales
A wide variety of entertainment will be available throughout the day, with more than 3,000 head of livestock of different kinds, as well as 350 trade stands.
Broke FMX, a freestyle motocross display team, will be flying high in the main ring with their dare devil stunts, while Cotswold Cart Horse Society will take us back in time with their traditional hay making display in the countryside ring.
Music can be heard on the Bandstand throughout the day where professor Crump will also be on hand to entertain the younger generation at the show. The popular cuddle corner will return again this year in the countryside area where you will be introduced to various smaller and larger animals. We aim to look after all ages, supplying a crche for the babies and mobile buggies for the less able.
Many people come to the Show to start their Christmas Shopping as there is a plethora of stalls in the Craft Marquee and Shopping Mall as well as a tremendous variety outside from tractors to toy trains. Visitors will love the Food Hall with its wonderful array of food, not only sourced from local farms but also with produce from around the world.
