Wilton Castle is pictured on one of this summers garden open days with the romantic ruins of the restored 12th century castle on the banks of the River Wye forming a backdrop for herbaceous borders, blooms entwined around mullion windows, an abundance of scented,old-fashioned roses, gravel gardens and shrubberies. The two acres of gardens surrounded by a dry moat which leads down to the Wye are open on Sundays and Wednesdays until the end of August and August Bank Holiday Monday in conjunction with English Heritage and on selected dates as part of the National Garden Scheme. The castle which has been extensively restored by owners Sue and Alan Parslow with grant aid from English Heritage is available for hire for weddings.
